Adoption Success: Greg's Zeke
Greg and Zeke share something very special - they both share their 1st day anniversary at Triple R on the same day! While Zeke was on a slaughter truck, he was injured and the slaughter house would not take him. Greg adopted Zeke, nursed his large wound on his side and took him to Colorado to heal and 'just be a horse'. "The connection I felt with Zeke the moment I met him has not changed in the four to five years he was in Colorado. He has an incredible demeanor!!" Greg brought Zeke back to Arizona and he is a great buddy and pleasure horse.
Help Eleven Rescued Horses
In August 2013, Triple R Horse Rescue in Cave Creek, AZ, along with Hoofprints of the Heart in Marana, AZ worked diligently to remove 11 horses from a small breeding facility in Southern AZ. The breeder has been battling medical conditions for the past several years, and has recently been hospitalized for an unknown duration. As a result the horses could no longer be cared for properly.
The horses were moved in 2 trips with 2 trailers, start to finish taking about 8 hours. The horses are of varying ages from approximately 6 months up. There is at least one stud colt, not gelded, raising the possibility that any of the mares could presently be pregnant.
